The Victorian Government recently announced a stamp duty waiver for purchasers of Victorian properties with a value of up to $1,000,000.
What this means to you:
- You will be able to purchase a new residential property and receive a 50% waiver of stamp duty
- You will be able to purchase an existing residential property and received a 25% waiver of stamp duty
- You will be able to purchase residential vacant land and receive a 25% waiver of stamp duty
The waiver is applicable to contracts of sale entered into from 25 November 2020 until 1 July 2021.
